This auction is for one (1) dome/map light assembly-used.

This one was taken from a 1988 Lincoln Town Car. Note that this map light has an almost perfectly flat base--regular, standard cab trucks use a dome light with a slightly rounded base (at the ends), to match the curvature of the roofline where they're mounted. FoMoCo cars, Broncos and SuperCab trucks use this flat base style, as they're mounted on a flat section of the roof. The ink-printed numbers on the bottom of this one are F4TB-13776-CA. This might be usable in other FoMoCo vehicles of this era, also--check your apps before you bid.

Condition is about average for it's age. The chrome is reasonably decent, but this one does have a number of very light scratches, and pinprick nicks. The lens is SLIGHTLY yellowed, and has a number of very light scratches, but not terrible. The terminals are reasonably clean, and the switches move as they should.  This light has been tested and works as it should. Includes 3 working light bulbs and the mounting screws. Note that this one does not have the plastic spacer which is needed in most trucks.

Not for a concours restoration, but should be perfectly usable to replace a missing, broken, or severely corroded original.

Please see my other items if you need one for a regular, standard cab truck.

No reserve.

MINI United Festival Roundup

Tue, 26 May 2009

Olivia Harrison and Paul Weller at the MINI United Event at Silverstone [ad#ad-1] The MINI United Event has been with us for a couple of years now, but with this year being the 50th Anniversary of the Mini, the event exploded in to something pretty huge. Held at Silverstone over this weekend there were cars, and people, from the four corners of the earth. Over 10,000 Minis, and 25,000 people, made the pilgrimage to Silverstone to celebrate all things Mini (and MINI) in style.

NO Jaguar SUV says Ian Callum

Tue, 20 Mar 2012

NO Jaguar SUV says Ian Callum Jaguar design boss Ian Callum has stated that Jaguar are NOT planning an SUV but could build a crossover. Ever since Jaguar’s Brand Director Adrian Hallmark said that Jaguar needed a crossover there’s been much speculation (from Cars UK just as much as elsewhere, we confess) that a Jaguar SUV is in the planning, despite Land Rover’s pre-eminence in the field. But it looks like we should have listened more carefully to Adrian Hallmark, who actually said Jaguar “…need a crossover and we need to stop being a saloon-based company.” We all leapt on the ‘stop being a saloon-based company’ bit as confirmation an SUV is planned when Adrian actually meant a crossover and not a full-blown SUV.
