Peugeot EX1 electric concept car (2010) first pictures
Wed, 22 Sep 2010This is the Peugeot EX1, a two-seat electric roadster concept car built to celebrate the French brand’s 200th anniversary. And the EX1 will let Peugeot usher in its bicentennial in style as it’s just notched up a number of electric car world records. It’s almost entirely carbonfibre, and the rear-hinged doors contain the seats, so you sit on the buckets before swinging your whole body into the metal and leather-lined cockpit.
EBay exotic: 1971 Maserati Indy
Fri, 29 Apr 2011In honor of the upcoming 100th anniversary of the Indianapolis 500, we bring you this lovely red 1971 Maserati Indy. Styled by Vignale, the Indy served as Maserati’s four-passenger business express from 1969 to 1971, powered originally by a 4.2-liter V8 and later by 4.7- and 4.9-liter versions of the Ghibli powerplant. This Oregon-based Euro-market example has a five-speed manual gearbox and power steering, and the owner of 20 years claims to have had a lot of expensive-sounding work done over the past few years.
Mobile phones set to be biggest roads killer
Wed, 23 Jul 2014MOBILE PHONES are likely to be the number one cause of fatal collisions on the UK’s roads by 2015. The number of drivers making calls, texting and using social media while driving has risen dramatically, which has led Transport Minister Patrick McLoughlin to propose doubling the number of penalty points added to a driver’s licence if caught using a mobile phone while at the wheel. Figures from the Department for Transport show there were 378 accidents in 2012 that were directly attributed to mobile phone use, with 17 deaths recorded as a result.
