Volkswagen Scirocco and eco-tech at Geneva

The Scirocco will come with four engines, in TDI and TSI forms, ranging from a 1.4 TSI (120bhp) to a 2.0T (197bhp). Adaptive chassis control will also be available, and prices are expected to be slightly more than the equivalent three-door Golf.

FRENCH OPEN tennis champion Maria Sharapova arrived at a pre-Wimbledon party thanks to Australian race Mark Webber The Porsche 918 Spyder is the most powerful road car, and least polluting, the company has built. The plug-in hybrid super sports car can reach a top speed of 214 mph, sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds, and it produces so little CO2 that it is exempt from the London congestion charge. The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee I don’t know why, but I always thought the Grand Cherokee an appealing SUV. It was soft and soggy in typical Yank-Tank way, and its interior trim owed more to the art of plastic than trees, but it had an appeal. More so in V8 mode than the Euro-Special diesel, although the current 3.0 litre is a lot better than the 2.7 litre it replaced.
