But in-between the award ceremonies, end-of-season parties and test sessions, CAR Online caught up with the Guernsey-based racer ahead of his star turn at this weekend’s Race of Champions. Held at Wembley Stadium on 16 December, RoC sees drivers from disciplines as diverse as Nascar and F1 race head-to-head, country-against-country on what looks like a giant Scalextric set.

The BMW M135i Concept is heading for Geneva BMW are taking the first petrol-engined car in its new M Performance range to the 2012 Geneva Motor Show – the BMW M135i Concept. It looks like BMW are going to be rolling out their new sub-M range of cars across the entire BMW range. We’ve already had the big diesel bruisers of the new M Performance Range – the M550d, X5 M50d and X6 M50d – revealed ahead of Geneva – and news of the M Performance Parts for the 1 Series.

Giles Taylor appointed Head of Exterior Design at Rolls-Royce

Rolls-Royce will be welcoming Giles taylor as its a new Head of Exterior Design in April this year. Taylor, who has spent the last 10 years in British automotive design roles and headed up the design team who created the XK and XJ model series under the direction of Ian Callum at Jaguar, will fill the vacant position in the Rolls-Royce design team. He will be based in West Sussex, UK, and report to Rolls‑Royce's Chief Designer, Ian Cameron.
