If your Toyota Previa cupholder will no longer stay in, but rather juts out a couple of inches, the issue is a broken latch.  Very tiny part, but nearly impossible to find! It is not difficult to remove the ashtray assembly to get to the cupholder, remove it, and replace the latch.  Here is an instructional youtube video link - if you skip to about 11 minutes in, you'll see where he is actually pulling out the old latch and replacing it.  If you can change a roll of toilet paper, you can manage this. :-)

The clicker mechanism color may vary from green, gray to black (the plastic mechanism on the inside of the latch).

Toyota shelves A-BAT pickup concept

Mon, 20 Apr 2009

Toyota won't build the small, ultramodern A-BAT hybrid pickup concept that was a head-turner at the 2008 Detroit auto show and looked like a good bet for production. "We have a lot of top priorities, and A-BAT is not one of them right now," Bob Carter, Toyota Division's general manager, told the Web site PickupTrucks.com. "It's on the shelf." A Toyota official confirmed Carter's comments.

Volkswagen Golf GTE plug-in hybrid revealed ahead of Geneva debut

Thu, 20 Feb 2014

The VW Golf GTE Plug-in (pictured) debuts at Geneva If you like a quite warm VW Golf with a petrol engine, VW has that covered with the Golf GTI, and if you’d rather burn oil you can do that too with the Golf GTD. But now there’s a third way – the Volkswagen Golf GTE plug-in hybrid. Combining a 1.4 litre TSI turbo petrol with 148bhp and a 101bhp electric motor, the Golf GTE manages a combined output of 201bhp, enough to get to 62mph in 7.6 seconds and return official economy figures of 157mpg and emissions of a paltry 35g/km.

New Lotus V8 will mean new 4-Cylinder engine too

Wed, 22 Jun 2011

2014 Lotus Elise - will get new 4-pot Lotus engine It seems that Lotus are deadly serious in their plans to build an all new V8 engine to drop in to the new Lotus Esprit, and it also seems as though the Lotus engine revival isn’t going to end there. The headline act is an all new modular Lotus V8 of 4.8 litres and boasting 562bhp. This is planned for the new Esprit, which is the only one of the crop of Lotus concepts actually under development, and will be ready to fire up in just a couple of months.
