VR Chevrolet Camaro (2010): the UK's Camaro
Sat, 31 Oct 2009By Jonny Smith First Official Pictures 31 October 2009 20:47 When GM uncloaked their Camaro retro remake at the 2006 Detroit auto show, the domestic audience understandably adored it. That muscle car concept is now a showroom reality, but any plans of bringing a right-hook version to South African, Aussie or Brit shores have been quashed – presumably due to low-volume sales and GM’s moth-eaten wallet.Much like a Mustang or Challenger, if you live in Britain and want a Camaro, you have to settle for a specially imported left-hooker. Come January 2010, when these rendered images of the VR Camaro will be a reality, UK customers won’t have to worry about doing any of the importation or UK-spec work.
Nissan LEAF EV sales top 50,000
Sun, 17 Feb 2013Nissan has revealed that sales of the electric LEAF have now topped 50,000 units since the LEAF went on sale in 2010. The LEAF went on sale in 2010 and, although sales have not been exactly huge, Nissan has revealed that the LEAF has now passed more than 50,000 cars sold in the 17 countries it is available, with the U.S.
Infiniti’s new electric car (2012): all the latest news
Fri, 30 Jul 2010Within the next two years Infiniti will launch an electric vehicle based on Nissan’s Leaf. But it won’t just be a Nissan with a new nose; instead the Infiniti version will, according to the company’s project design director Takashi Nakajima, be a ‘luxury EV’ with completely unique styling and a performance boost to boot. Infiniti’s EV won’t just be a re-badged Leaf with an Infiniti grille, though it will borrow heavily from Nissan’s electric car beneath the skin.
