Renault is reviving the Gordini name for high-performance models
Tue, 10 Nov 2009They don't sell Renaults in the United States anymore, but it's worth noting that the French automaker is reviving the Gordini name for high-performance versions of the Twingo and the Clio. The name pays homage to Amedee Gordini, a mechanical whiz known as "the sorcerer" for taking production-car engines and making them competitive on the great racetracks of Europe. The Gordini versions of the Twingo and the Clio will wear the trademark light blue paint with a pair of white stripes running from nose to tail and centered over the driver.
Kia four-door sports sedan concept
Fri, 19 Aug 2011Kia isn't giving much away about its Frankfurt-bound concept car, indeed it hasn't even released its name yet, referring to it as the 'four-door sports sedan concept.' The press release talks of it as 'signalling a distinctive new design direction' for the Korean brand, yet the now-familiar 'tiger-nose' grille and Optima-esque A-pillar/cant rail/C-pillar highlight are very much in evidence. "No matter from which perspective you look at it - this concept car is roaring with energy and ready for take-off," says Peter Schreyer, Kia Motors Chief Design Officer."I believe the car is a strong statement from Kia: we are ready to fast forward to an all new chapter." McLaren 650S GT3 revealed at Goodwood
Fri, 27 Jun 2014McLaren 650S GT3 revealed at Goodwood The arrival of the McLaren 650S meant a GT3 version wouldn’t be far behind as McLaren transferred all that’s better about the 650S to the track version, and now the McLaren 650S GT3 has made its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Sitting on McLaren’s stand at Goodwood alongside the P1, the 650S GT3 is wider than the 12C version, has a carbon fibre body kit, big air intakes and a huge rear wing and diffuser made from carbon fibre too. McLaren has also upgraded the suspension on the 650S and the cabin offers more head and leg room as well as promising a more comfortable drive.
