Movie Cars: Crash on Sunday, sell on Monday

Thu, 19 May 2011

“Hey Toreador! She signals, we head for the edge, and the first man who jumps is a chicken.” That line was one of the more memorable ones from the classic 1955 film Rebel Without a Cause, and it helped cement cars as key supporting actors--and sometimes the stars--on the silver screen. From Rebel's 1946 Ford Super De Luxe to the “Eleanor” Mustang in Gone in Sixty Seconds, if there's not a great car scene, it's not a great action movie.

MG3: Shanghai Motor Show

Sat, 20 Apr 2013

The MG3 SuperMini for Europe is a titivated version of the MG3 the Chinese market gets, complete with a decent dose of flair and additional equipment and cosmetic enhancements to make it more appealing to Western tastes. That means hockey stick shaped LED running lights across the range, black A-pillars, mesh grill (well, mesh slit at the front), dual colour side skirts, dual colour alloys and a rear valance MG say was inspired by generations of MG sports cars. Although only 4 metres long, MG say the MG3 offer space inside that matches or beats all competition (room for  four six-footers they reckon) and gets a ‘rolled and raised’ dash that accentuates the space on offer and sculpted backs to the front seats to help space in the rear.

First Audi show car overseen by Marc Lichte to debut at LA Auto Show

Wed, 15 Oct 2014

Audi has confirmed that the first show car to be overseen by its new head of design, Marc Lichte, will be unveiled at the Los Angeles Motor Show. Audi hasn't confirmed the exact time of the car's big reveal, but its press conference is scheduled for 9:00am on 19 November. The news was accompanied by an official teaser image, which doesn't reveal a great deal about the new car, aside from the fact that it seems to be a large sedan or shooting brake.
