It's a fully electric BMW and a hint of what's to come through the long-range visionary Project i plan which will reshape BMWs for the 21st century.No prizes for guessing it's based on an existing BMW production car, the 1-series Coupé. But the hardware underneath is designed to percolate across the lower echelons of the BMW range, starting with some exciting new bespoke electric cars.The ActiveE is the first fully electric BMW and follows in the treadmarks of the Mini E. Johnny was taking the Tiguan off to a sheep farm to play around; Eric was off to Silverstone to have a bash on the track and the skid-pan and Harriet was off on a mystery tour round Oxford (which as we said at the time was no easy thing). Well, the winner’s been announced this morning and it’s Harriet, who wins a nice shiny VW Tiguan for her efforts.
Audi A5 gets new TDIe engines & SE Technik spec
Fri, 03 Feb 2012Audi A5 TDIe offers more efficient engines in Sportback & Coupe Audi has made the A5 Coupe and Sportback even more efficient with two new TDIe engines and SE Technik specification option. We’ve only just reported the powerful BiTurbo 3.0 litre diesel engines for the Audi A6 and A7, and now we get news from Audi of diesel engines at the other end of the spectrum with new, more efficient TDIe engines for the Audi A5 Coupe and A5 Sportback. The new efficient TDIe engines come in either a 136PS or 163PS versions, with fuel economy as impressive as 64.2mpg in the A5 Sportback 2.0 TDIe 136PS.
