January’s top 10 best-selling cars: in pictures

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) has released the UK car sales figures for January 2014 – and they represent an excellent start to the new year. There were 154,562 new cars registered last month – a 7.6% rise over January 2013, continuing the run of buyer confidence that saw overall sales reach a six-year high last year. But the newness of the 208 is starting to wear off a little, so Peugeot are aiming to put some pep in to sales and some footfall in to showrooms with a new special edition 208 – the Peugeot 208 Style. Based on the best-selling 208 Active trim, the 208 Style comes with a panoramic glass roof, SatNav, parking sensors and chrome door mirrors, with the interior getting new seat trim.

Mini Works unveiled

By Ben Barry Motor Shows 08 March 2007 01:29 Three new Minis shown at Geneva BMW unveiled several world-firsts at Geneva 2007: a Works kit for the new Mini, the entry-level One, and the new Mini Cooper D. The new Works option is an aftermarket job for the new Mini; it increases power of the Cooper S to 192bhp and adds numerous styling tweaks. A more powerful Works version, which will be built on the production line and boast more than 210bhp, will be added later, officials promised.
