We revealed back in April that a new version of the MINI JCW GP was on the way, and MINI got round to confirming that in May when the new MINI John Cooper Works GP was officially revealed. At the time, MINI told us that the new MINI GP could hustle round the Nurburgring a full 19 seconds quicker than the old MINI GP making the new hot MINI the fastest MINI ever made (well, the fastest MINI ever made by BMW, anyway).
Jaguar to end XK production after 18 years
Fri, 07 Mar 2014Jaguar will this summer cease production of the XK 2+2 GT car after 18 years at the top of the Coventry firm’s model range. The decision to stop making the XK comes after the hugely successful launch of the F-Type – which, say analysts, has led to a big fall in XK sales as thousands of buyers queues up to buy the F-Type. Jaguar signs up Lana Del Rey to make the F-Type cool
Sat, 25 Aug 2012Jaguar has revealed it has signed up singer songwriter Lana Del Rey to help promote the new F-Type sports car. Land Rover chose to use Mrs Beckham to promote the Range Rover Evoque, and went as far as allowing her input in a limited edition Evoque Beckham, a move that probably generated more column inches of PR for Land Rover than any amount of money could buy. So Jaguar are going a similar way with the F-Type, but instead of signing a Spice Girl they’ve had the sense to look at what is new and cool, and they’ve very sensibly decided the face of the F-Type is going to be singer songwriter Lana Del Rey.
