Future products: Kia seeks lively, upscale look

Indeed, styling has been a crucial element of Kia's new-product push in the past 18 months. The team at Kia Design Center America near Los Angeles--part of the automaker's global design network led by onetime Audi design chief Peter Schreyer--has helped set the new styling direction.

Based on the Mazda2 SE AirCon 1.3 litre 75PS, the Colour Edition sports 11 additional bits of kit including Privacy glass, a pair of black door mirrors, 15″ dark grey alloys and a rear spoiler, with the interior getting treated to red piping for the black seat trim, leather steering wheel with gloss dark grey inserts, Bluetooth and body colour for the door trim and air vents. BMW and Toyota plan engine-swap deal, reports say
Mon, 28 Nov 2011Details have begun to emerge about a planned engine-swap deal between BMW and Toyota. Set to be made public at the Tokyo motor show this week, the cooperation is said to center on BMW supplying Toyota with four- and six-cylinder common-rail diesel engines for use in a wide range of models. In return, Toyota plans to provide BMW with technology used to combine combustion engines and electric motors in various hybrid applications.
