Redesigned 2013 Honda Accord aims to lead in safety, fuel economy

The redesigned 2013 Honda Accord will go on sale this fall with a shorter overall length, a new engine family and a continuously variable transmission--huge engineering changes for a signature car that has slipped against mid-sized rivals. Honda released the first images of the production version of the Accord sedan and coupe on Wednesday but provided few additional details about the cars. The 2013 sedan--weighing less than the outgoing model, but with more passenger and cargo room--features nearly flush windshield glass, flush-mounted windshield wipers and available LED daytime running lights, headlights and taillights.

The Jaguar XF 2.2 Diesel completes its US Road Trip Last week we reported that Jaguar were taking an XF 2.2 Diesel to the US to drive from New York to Los Angeles to show just how economical the new, smaller engined diesel can be when driven on long, open roads. It was the U.S version of the economy run from Jaguar to Munich earlier this year, when economy-run specialists David and Alexander Madgwick managed to squeeze 57mpg out of the parsimonious XF. Ford Figo – Cool for India

The Ford Figo - made in India For has spent a few bob – around £300 million – expanding its car making facilities in India at Chennai to make the plant capable of producing 200,000 cars a year which, as Alan Mullaly, Ford’s CEO said, does show how serious Ford are about the Indian market. The Figo – which is apparently colloquial Italian for ‘Cool’ – shares Ford’s small car platform, which means that under the skin it’s a Fiesta. It looks like a Ford too, with the usual ford ‘Kinetic’ design cues written all over it.
