Kia has decided that its range-topping take on the BMW 7 Series should enter the market as the Kia Quoris. We can understand why Kia made the decision to seek a name for its new range-topping saloon for markets outside South Korea. After all, Kia K9 has a distinctly ‘pooch’ feel in the West (not to mention Dr Who’s sidekick), and chuck in the Korean predilection for eating man’s best friend and you have a PR problem along the lines of the Mitsubishi Pajero in Spain.

2014 Ford F-150 STX now offers SuperCrew and all-new STX Sport Package

Ford has just made the SuperCrew bodystyle more affordable for buyers of the popular F-150 truck, with bodystyle now available on the base STX trim level for 2014. Previously, buyers had to select the XLT trim level to get the four-door versatility of the SuperCrew. The 2014 F-150 lineup will also offer an STX Sport Package.

U.S. is seeking a record $16.4 million fine against Toyota

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is seeking a historic $16.4 million civil penalty against Toyota for failing to notify the agency in a timely fashion of a throttle problem that could cause unintended acceleration, Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said on Monday. The amount is the maximum penalty and would be the most NHTSA has levied against an automaker. The agency said Toyota waited at least four months to alert it of the potential pedal problem.
