Next-gen Passat to offer hybrid and twin-turbo power

VOLKSWAGEN is going even more upmarket with the all-new version of the Passat, which is due to hit showrooms later this year. Weight-saving measures have chopped up to 85kg from the new kid on a like-for-like basis, which helps achieve VW's stated efficiency boosts of 20% versus equivalent outgoing Passats.

2015 Lincoln Navigator gets a fresh face

Lincoln has just unveiled a refreshed 2015 Navigator. The Navigator received its last visual updates in 2007, but today steps out with a fresh fascia and improved interior and exterior styling. Seven years is a lifetime in the car world, and the 2015 Navigator will have some pretty stiff competition in the luxury SUV class including the Mercedes-Benz GL and Cadillac Escalade.

Honda recalls the CR-V, CR-Z for fixes

Honda is recalling CR-V crossovers to fix a window switch that could start a fire, and the CR-Z hybrid with manual transmission to make a change to the powertrain software. The new Honda recall is part of a global recall of nearly 960,000 vehicles, including the Honda Fit, for problems with the window switch and the hybrid powertrain. The recall for the Honda CR-V covers 80,111 crossovers from the 2006 model year.
