Analysis: why GM is pulling Chevrolet out of Europe
Wed, 06 Nov 2013The news that Chevrolet is to leave the western European car market (while staying in eastern Europe and Russia) is not a huge surprise, but it provides an interesting contrast to the success of fellow Koreans, Hyundai and Kia. “Fellow Koreans?” you might say, “but isn’t Chevrolet American?” Yes and no. Fri, 27 Jun 2014McLaren 650S GT3 revealed at Goodwood The arrival of the McLaren 650S meant a GT3 version wouldn’t be far behind as McLaren transferred all that’s better about the 650S to the track version, and now the McLaren 650S GT3 has made its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Sitting on McLaren’s stand at Goodwood alongside the P1, the 650S GT3 is wider than the 12C version, has a carbon fibre body kit, big air intakes and a huge rear wing and diffuser made from carbon fibre too. McLaren has also upgraded the suspension on the 650S and the cabin offers more head and leg room as well as promising a more comfortable drive.
Toyota shelves A-BAT pickup concept
Mon, 20 Apr 2009Toyota won't build the small, ultramodern A-BAT hybrid pickup concept that was a head-turner at the 2008 Detroit auto show and looked like a good bet for production. "We have a lot of top priorities, and A-BAT is not one of them right now," Bob Carter, Toyota Division's general manager, told the Web site PickupTrucks.com. "It's on the shelf." A Toyota official confirmed Carter's comments.
