This auction is for an OEM Red fiberglass decklid that fits a 1999-2004 Ford Mustang.  It will fit a V6, GT V8, and SVT Cobra.  It has never been installed on a vehicle but has minor damage from shipping that can easily be repaired by someone who knows how to use fiberglass.  I have done my best to photograph any defects that I caught needing attention to include in the auction. Overall the decklid is in good shape with minor defects and tape residue on the top of the lid.  It is factory primered and painted red.  The decklid is very expensive to ship, so I will be offering local pick up only.  I am willing to drive a little ways if necessary to help reduce travel for any buyers. Unless you want to arrange and pay for the shipping, I will wrap the trunk lid for shipping, but the buyer must have the item picked up or I will drop it off at a UPS or Fed Ex. This item is located in southeastern Michigan, just south of Detroit.

All sales are final, so please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns.  You can pay for the auction with paypal. Again, this is an OEM Ford Motor Co. part, not a reproduction. Thank you and good luck bidding!

Volkswagen working on new VR6 engine

Tue, 24 Sep 2013

Volkswagen is pushing ahead with development of a new narrow-angle V6 direct-injection gas engine, sources from the German carmaker's engineering headquarters based in Braunschweig reveal. Engineering for the new engine is being overseen by Volkswagen's new head of engine development, Fritz Eichler -- who in a previous position led the development of the current generation of Mercedes-Benz AMG powerplants -- continues with a swept volume of 3.0-liters and an unfashionable 15-degree cylinder bank angle. It has been conceived for transverse mounting.

Mitsubishi closes California design studio

Mitsubishi Motors Corp. closed its design studio in Cypress, CA last Thursday – just one month shy of its 25th anniversary. A result of the recent downturn in the global economy, the closure of the facility will eliminate 33 design positions as part of a personnel cull that has seen 60 people within the automaker's US operations lose their jobs.

Mercedes CLS (2011 / 2012) spied undisguised

Mercedes CLS 2011 Spy shot The Mercedes CLS was the first - and some would say still the best - interpretation of a four door swoopy-coupe. It set the benchmark for cars to follow and made the genre hugely desirable. We now have everyone from VW to Porsche and Aston Martin to Jaguar producing 4 door coupes, with Audi joining in with the Sportbacks and BMW about to put the Gran Coupe in to production.
