BMW to build Gran Coupe to challenge Mercedes-Benz, Porsche
Wed, 11 Aug 2010BMW will build its Gran Coupe concept car, the company's development chief Klaus Draeger said. The production Gran Coupe will rival luxury coupe-styled four-door cars such as the Mercedes CLS, Audi's upcoming A7 and the Porsche Panamera. Quattro is standard, helping to put 268bhp and 258lb ft safely to the ground, as well as helping the coupe claw to 62mph in just 5.2 seconds. Using a tweaked version of the Audi S3 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, the TTS will run on to a limited top speed of 155mph, in coupe or cabrio form.
Walter de'Silva awarded medal for special services to Bavaria
