One Lap of the Web: Happy birthday, John DeLorean, a legally imported Nissan Skyline, Amphicar for sale and the Righini Collection

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

-- Bust out the candles: American success story, visionary futurist and import/export whiz John DeLorean was born this day in 1925. Everyone knows about his battle to launch the DeLorean Motor Company, but the man behind the stainless-steel legend had a long career as a brilliant engineer that included time at Chrysler, Packard and General Motors. And while we might not all be driving DeLoreans today, we're still talking about both the man and the company -- which is pretty impressive when you think about it.

Kia Track’ster is a bonkers 4wd 250bhp concept

Wed, 08 Feb 2012

The barking mad Kia Tracks'ter The Kia Trackster Concept has been revealed as a three-door, 250bhp, 4WD track version of the Soul. The Kia Soul may not be thye first car you’d think of turning in to a hot hatch, but that hasn’t stopped the Kia Track’ster arriving as a concept at the Chicago Motor Show today. Based on the Soul, the Tracks’ter (those Kia apostrophes again) gets 4WD, loses its back seats to what Kia call an “Integrated Equipment Tray” instead, gets a 2.0 litre turbo with 250bhp mated to a six-speed ‘box and a set of 19″ alloys.

Goodwood Festival of Speed 2008 | CAR Magazine Online

Wed, 25 Jun 2008

By Tim Pollard Motor Shows 25 June 2008 09:30 The Goodwood Festival of Speed is a heart-stoppingly special event. I remember my first back in the late 1990s: marvelling at the splendour of Goodwood House; impressed that you could walk up so close to the cars and stars that enrich the atmosphere; and wondering just how Lord March had turned his back yard into one of the world’s premier motoring events. Make no mistake, the Festival of Speed is unlike any other I have ever attended.
