Peugeot 308 RCZ concept
Tue, 31 Jul 2007These are the first pictures of the Peugeot 308 RCZ concept car, scheduled to make an appearance at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. Based on the forthcoming 308, the 308 RCZ is a 2+2 coupe - in the same ilk as Audi's TT. The construction focuses on lightweight, employing aluminum in the roll over protection bars, a polycarbonate rear windscreen and carbon fiber body panels. Design details of the dramatic concept include pronounced wheel-arches that blend seamlessly with the aggressive front fascia and a stepped beltline. The large offset between the door and rocker panel emphasizes the purposeful, sporting stance.

Production cars included the Ford F-150, Corvette Z06, BMW M3 and M4, Subaru WRX STI and the Porsche 911 Targa, while on the concept front we saw the Toyota FT-1, Nissan Sport Sedan and Kia GT4 Stinger just to name a few. The iMIEV Sport, a teardrop coupe based on the same running gear as the regular iMIEV (more of which shortly), but with two in-wheel electric motors at the front to complement the single electric motor under the boot driving the rear wheels. The firm says the set-up can mimic the four-wheel drive grip of the S-AWC system used in the Evo X, but there are no plans to put it into production.
