Honda reportedly plans electric car for '15

Honda could be joining the growing ranks of electric-car makers and reportedly plans to sell one in the United States sometime around 2015. Reports in the Nikkei Business Daily in Japan say that the car would arrive then as part of Honda's plans to meet stricter mileage standards set to take effect for the 2016 model year. The car would be Honda's answer to the Nissan Leaf and the Chevrolet Volt, which have announced eye-popping mpg figures and are due next year.

Peugeot will show a new concept car at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show this April, hinting at a small four-door coupe that could rival the Mercedes-Benz CLA. The prototype will most likely be based on the French firm’s current 308 hatchback – underpinned by PSA Peugeot Citroen’s latest EMP2 platform – and will continue to evolve the brand’s new design direction. Volkswagen has plans for yet another Beetle

The Volkswagen Beetle is on its way back, and this time around, it will be focused more on driving dynamics than on efforts to resurrect the past. Expected to appear in concept form at the Los Angeles auto show late this year, the second-generation version of the modern-day Beetle goes on sale in the United States in May 2011. A convertible with a fabric top will follow about a year later.
