Flying car gets regulatory clearance

The Jetsons' futuristic vision of a flying car is one step closer to becoming a reality. Terrafugia, a Massachusetts company developing a "roadable aircraft" named the Transition, just received special exemptions from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that will help it move the vehicle move forward to production. NHTSA will allow the Transition to be outfitted with plastic windows rather than standard automotive safety glass.

Alfa Romeo has updated the 159 for 201 with new trim levels and two new engines The Alfa 159 is arguably the best looking compact executive saloon on the market. We know, it doesn’t sell as well as the German competition, but it is a fine looking car and has a great deal of ‘Alfa-ness’ about it. Ferrari stole a surprise march at the 2012 Beijing auto show when it announced a few details about its forthcoming Enzo successor. The powertrain you see here is essentially the hybrid supercar architecture which'll underpin the new hypercar being readied for launch later in 2012. Ferrari chief Amadeo Felisa told CAR the electric powertrain would lop 10% off the 0-124mph time - and its V12 is related to that in the F12, but with more power and 40% lower CO2 emissions.
