ACC Performance Boss Hog GM Powerglide Direct Drive Converter
GM 1962-1973 2 Speed PowerGlide, 10.5" bolt circle, 17 spline, 9.75" Dia.
This auction is for a new ACC Performance Boss Hog direct drive "dummy" torque converter. This converter is just a shell, no internals like the normal torque converter. Will function as a direct drive unit while maintaining the stock outer looks. Used for mainly for dirt track racing. This converter is 9.75" in diameter. With the internals removed the weight is cut down to only about 15 pounds! Std. length pilot.
These are top of the line converters and are very comparible to the similar brands such as TCI or Coan that most transmission builders are selling. ACC is one of the top tourqe converter builders. Very common in the imca style hobby stock class and other similar entry level classes. Where the rules say you must run a tourqe converter and you are looking for the little edge on the competition.
WARNING: Dirt Track Racers - Some of these parts may or may not be legal at your track.
Mid plate users - extended pilot converters can be custom ordered, please contact us for more details. |
These converters do hold approximately 4 qts of fluid. Drain plug available by special order only. You will need to call us directly to special order a converter with a drain plug.
The automotive industry now has a new torque converter leader. ACC has emerged as a out-right leader in this industry and here’s why:
Industrial Bearings - No Light Duty Needle Bearings. Needle bearings are good, but not great. Industrial bearings give these converters the ability to handle not hundreds, but thousands of pounds of torque. That’s much better then the higher priced alternative converters.
Aircraft Aluminum Washers - NO FIBER. ACC converters utilize an aircraft quality aluminum washer instead of those old fiber washers that other companies use. This allows for more horsepower and torque capabilities.
NO Automation - ALL HAND BUILT. ACC Performance torque converters are hand built and tested to ensure that you are getting the best converter money can buy. No automated process can ensure that you will get that kind of quality. Made here in the USA. (You old school people may remember ACC as Alabama Converters).
With all this new information, ask yourself one question. Are you paying too much money for not enough converter? We bet you are. All ACC Performance torque converters are warrantied for a period of 2 years to be free of defects in material or workmanship under normal operating conditions, providing normal application and installation methods are followed. This warranty does not cover any units that have been tampered with or altered prior to our inspection and is limited to the replacement of the defective torque converter upon inspection.
Not what you need? We have the full line of Powerglide converters in our ebay store including the 12" diameter direct drive version (ACC 34001).
ACC Performance has been building High Quality Torque Converters since 1970. ACC is known for extra strong converters that are lighter than the competition, meaning less rotating mass. Remember stall ranges will vary depending on your application and that stall is an equation that comes from: engine setup vs. vehicle weight vs. gear ratio.
Torque converter fit and application is 100% the responsibility of buyer.
If you have any doubts to your application, call us at 515-733-2890 before bidding!

Please contact us if a listing will not automatically calculate you a shipping charge or you feel the price quoted is too high.
Paypal payments $750.00 and above will ship only by UPS/FedEx and require a signature on delivery.
Shipping is based on weight and size of package. We will try to combine as many items into one package as possible but doing separate checkouts makes it hard. Please message us for a quote before buying multiple items.

These are the first official photographs of the new Aston Martin One-77 – the most expensive supercar ever built by Aston. Predictably in this internet age, these pictures of the One-77 have leaked online ahead of Aston's planned debut. This is the first full view of the £1.2 million special after a string of carefully silhouetted and covered-up teaser shots.

Sebastian Vettel has put his Red Bull on pole for tomorrow’s U.S. Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, moving him closer to the world championship. The United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, may be a new addition to the F1 Circus, but there was nothing new about qualifying for tomorrow’s 2012 U.S.

The Lamborghini of today is a far cry from the Lamborghini of old. Starting life as a tractor maker, Lamborghini cars came in to being when Ferruccio Lamborghini complained to Enzo Ferrari about the clutch on his new Ferarri. The dismissive response was that “the fault is with the driver, not the car”, and so was born Ferruccio Lamborghini’s resolve to build a car to take on the might of Marenello from his factory in Sant’Agata (incidentally, when Lamborghini took apart the transmission in question, he discovered is was the same unit he was currently building in to his tractors!).
