The Bluebird name is back – and this time it’s on a road-legal supercar. This is the first sketch of the Bluebird DC50, an electric coupe that’ll be launched in 2014 to mark 50 years since Donald Campbell’s land and water speed record runs. It’s the brainchild of Don Wales, grandson of Sir Malcolm Campbell and nephew of Donald Campbell.

Aston Martin today unveiled the new 2011 V12 Zagato, a V12 Vantage supercar rebodied by Italian coachbuilder Zagato. We saw the first design sketch a few weeks ago, designed to mark the 50th anniversary of the gorgeous DB4 GT Zagato of 1961. Now Aston Martin and Zagato are unveiling the new V12 at this weekend's Villa D'Este concours in Italy.

That the background growl of the W12 is audible is a pleasant surprise; Bentley has chosen not to make the Speed experience a silent one. A prod on the throttle is enough to entice the Speed to leave its stationary position with something very close to instant acceleration.
