Shocking bald tyre sparks safety warning

Tue, 18 Feb 2014

A TYRE that was completely bald after being taken off a high-performance BMW has sparked warnings from tyre safety charity TyreSafe. The shocking pictures of the incredibly dangerous tyre, whose owner is lucky to be alive, show the extent of the lengths to which some people are pushing the limits of safety. As it is, the tyre would be almost completely ineffective in wet or damp conditions, and how the driver had avoided an accident is a mystery.

One Lap of the Web: Antarctic hot rods, Nissan BE-1 for sale and parting with a beloved Wagoneer

Mon, 25 Nov 2013

-- Here's yet another gem we first saw over at Hemmings: The first, and (so far as we know) only Antarctic hot rod ever built. It might be from 1968-'71; not much else is known, except that it was probably constructed by Navy SeaBees operating out of McMurdo Station. From the one photo we have, it looks like it could have a Jeep flathead four up front.

BMW Vision Future Luxury at 2014 Beijing Motor Show hints at new 9 Series

Sun, 20 Apr 2014

BMW unveiled its latest concept on Easter Sunday, which could signal an all-new 9 Series model to top its range. The four-seater concept – called Vision Future Luxury – was revealed at the Beijing Motor Show, but MSN Cars got a sneak preview of the car back in Munich, Germany in early April 2014 and spoke to its key designers to bring you this ‘inside track’ report. The big news is that this Vision Future Luxury concept could herald the introduction of an ultra-luxurious BMW four-door model above the 7 Series, and thus also logically mean that a new 8 Series coupe and possibly 8 Series Gran Coupe could fit in-between.  Please click on the photo above to see the rest of the BMW Vision Future Luxury gallery
