Nissan Qazana unveiled at Geneva motor show 2009
Tue, 03 Mar 2009By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 03 March 2009 12:39 This funky little concept car is Nissan’s new Qazana, a preview of an all-new sub-Qashqai crossover that’ll be built at the company’s Sunderland plant in 2010. All of the concept’s real, from its suicide rear doors through to its 20-inch wheels, but don’t expect much of this to translate onto the production car. The fancy doors and big rims will disappear, but the real thing will still have the muscular yet curvaceous lines of the Qazana concept.
Mercedes AMG C 63 price & specs – costs from £59,795
Wed, 08 Oct 2014Mercedes AMG C 63 price & specs – costs from £59,795 The pinnacle of the new Mercedes C-Class range – the Mercedes-AMG C 63 – had a reveal last month ahead of its public debut in Paris (and got a new name, with ‘AMG’ hyphenated with Mercedes and in front of the ‘C 63′ bit instead of after) and it’s now gone on sale priced from £59,795 for the C 63 Saloon to £67,745 for the C 63 S Estate. Power comes from a new 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8 developing 469bhp in the C 63 and a more potent 503bhp in the C 63 S, with 0-62mph times of 4.1 seconds for the C 63 (0.1 slower in the estate) and a modest 0.1 quicker in the C 63 S. Not surprisingly, the C63 gets a more than adequate spec including Nappa Leather AMG sports seats, COMAND, mechanical locking rear diff, dynamic engine mounts, unique tracks front and back, upgraded AMG brakes, quad tailpipes, new front wings to cover the wider track, rear spoiler and 18″ alloys.
Mercedes S500 Plug-in Hybrid revealed – gets official 94.2mpg
Wed, 21 Aug 2013The Mercedes S500 Plug-in Hybrid (pictured) has been revealed There will come a point when legislators wake up and realise that car makers are getting too clever at gaming their CO2 based taxation and change the goal posts. But until then, cars like the new Mercedes S500 Plug in Hybrid – revealed today – are the perfect company buy. That’s because the clever use of a plug-in electric motor coupled with a relatively frugal ICE engine – in the case of the S500 Plug-in a 329bhp 3.0 litre V6 and 80kW electric motor – produce official economy and emissions figures that are really only valid under test conditions but save a big chunk of tax for buyers.
