BMW readying first M Performance model for U.S.
Fri, 06 Jul 2012BMW will introduce the first in what will become a line of M Performance models to North America in early 2014 with the M235i coupe. It will take the place of the 1-series M coupe which recently ceased production after a run of more than 6,000 units, some 600 of which were sold in the United States. BMW is renaming the coupe and convertible versions of the 1-series as the 2-series for the vehicle's second generation.
New Jaguar XJ Interior tease w/Video
Tue, 07 Jul 2009This is all we get to see of the new Jaguar XJ interior before Thursday With only 48 hours until the new XJ gets launched at the Saatchi Gallery in London’s Kings Road – by Jay Leno, no less – Jaguar has sent us what will be the last tease – this time on the interior. We get the main-man again this time – Ian Callum, Design Boss – which illustrates just how important the interior of the new Jaguar XJ is going to be. We said the other day that the Driving Dynamics would make or break the new XJ, but this will too.
MINI compares Classic Mini to Porsche 911
Thu, 06 Jun 2013The Classic Mini & Classic Porsche 911 A comparison between the classic Mini and the Porsche 911 may not be the most obvious, but that hasn’t stopped MINI jumping on the 911′s 50th anniversary year with a comparison between the two iconic cars. MINI assert that the similarities between the classic Mini and the 911 are based on their ‘Forever Young’ ethos (which is, in no small part, down to the fact both are still clearly similar to the original design) and their performance. The Mini arrived before the 911 – Mini in 1959, 911 in 1963 – but both turned the car world on its head with a delightful turn of design, speed and appeal, with the original Mini ending up selling 5.3 million and the, still continuing, 911 starting to close in on a million sales.
