EU new car CO2 targets pushed back
Wed, 27 Nov 2013The European Union’s plans to cap new cars to 95g/km CO2 by 2020 has been delayed, after months of lobbying led by Germany. Instead, the 95g/km target will be introduced a year later in 2021, but with an additional amount of flexibility intended to make the transition easier – especially for luxury carmakers such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz, which generally build bigger, heavier vehicles. Land Rover itself set another record, with 348,338 retail sales resulting in a 15% boost on 2012. For Jaguar, 76,668 sales made 2013 the division’s best year since 2005 – and was a 42% rise on 2012.
Ford F-150 to deliver 20 percent fuel-economy gain with V6 engines
