Fisker goes to China's Wanxiang
Mon, 17 Feb 2014China's Wanxiang Group won an auction for Fisker Automotive Holdings Inc., the maker of luxury plug-in hybrid cars, with a $149.2 million bid, almost six times what Fisker was seeking when it filed for bankruptcy. Wanxiang topped Hybrid Tech Holdings during the auction, which began on Wednesday and went through 19 rounds of bidding, with an offer that includes $126.2 million in cash and $8 million in assumed liabilities, Fisker said Friday in a statement. Algae-powered street lights eat CO2

The need to reduce CO2 in the atmosphere is contentious - to say the least – but as long as governments use CO2 as a stick to beat motorists and empty their bank accounts it’s sensible to look at ways of ‘balancing’ the CO2 emissions of cars. French biochemist Pierre Calleja thinks he’s come up with a solution that would neutralise CO2 emissions from cars by cancelling it out with his micro-algae lighting.
Subaru Levorg concept teased ahead of Tokyo debut
Wed, 30 Oct 2013The Subaru Levorg Concept Touring (pictured) will debut at the Tokyo Motor Show Today it’s the turn of another Japanese car maker to start showing what they’ll be taking to their home motor show in Tokyo next month, with Subaru teasing the Subaru Levorg concept. The Levorg concept – it’s name is made up from Legacy, Revolution and Touring – is said by Subaru to be a Tourer but with the feel of a sports car, whatever that means. Under the bonnet lurks a 1.6 litre Boxer engine with direct injection turbo tech which, say Subaru, offers smooth performance and green credentials.
