Nissan Leaf with advanced-driver assist to begin public road tests in Japan
Thu, 26 Sep 2013Nissan is about to begin testing advanced driver-assist systems in the real world, and a new Nissan Leaf is serving as the test bed for these technologies. This is all a part of Nissan's development of Autonomous Drive, a goal to achieve virtually zero fatalities in accidents involving its vehicles by the year 2020. Autonomous Drive can be said to be a further development of Nissan's Safety Shield, a system that has a 360-degree view around the vehicle that scans for risks and provides warnings to the driver, intervening automatically if necessary.
Vettel and Webber make it a 1-2 for Red Bull in China
Sun, 19 Apr 2009Red Bull's Vettel and Webber celebrate their 1-2 in Shanghai [ad#ad-1] This is the most topsy-turvy start to a Grand Prix season in many a year. And now, in Shanghai at the Chinese Grand Prix, Red Bull has achieved its first ever F1 win with a stunning 1-2 by drivers Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber After two days of high temperatures and sunshine the Shanghai Grand Prix set off in a procession behind the safety car in torrential rain, and stayed that way for the first eight laps.
British Grand Prix Qualifying: Rosberg on pole for Mercedes – Hamilton 6th
Sat, 05 Jul 2014Nico Rosberg (pictured) takes pole for 2014 British Grand Prix at Silverstone Nico Rosberg has taken pole position for tomorrow’s 2014 British Grand Prix at Silverstone, but team mate Lewis Hamilton made a complete mess of final qualifying and will start 6th in the race. Hamilton decided that his final run wasn’t quick enough and aborted it because he was a bit down in the first two sectors, but the rest of the track had dried out more, and if he’d carried on with his lap he would have almost certainly have taken pole. Behind Rosberg, Sebastian Vettel put his Red Bull in second place and McLaren’s Jenson Button took third followed by Nico Hulkenberg in the Force India and Kevin Magnussen in the second McLaren.
