BMW X4 Confirmed
Thu, 14 Oct 2010BMW X4 Sketch There’s been talk about producing a little brother for the BMW X6 since… well, since the BMW X6 turned from a ‘They’ll never build that’ to ‘The’y'll never sell that ‘ to ‘Blimey, that’s selling well’. And with the world seemingly obsessed by frugality, smaller versions of successful models are inevitable. We last brought news on the BMW X4 in April when our sources were telling us that BMW were close to signing off production of the X4.
Four in 10 'can't read maps'
Wed, 13 Aug 2014ALMOST four in 10 drivers don't know how to read a traditional map, according to new research by sat-nav manufacturer Garmin. A study of 2,000 Brits revealed that 39% admit to not knowing what they're doing with old-fashioned navigation, but the true figure could well be higher than that when taking into account those who believe they can read a map but have either never tried or never proved it. A worrying 16% say that they are 'heavily reliant' on sat-nav in their cars in order to get anywhere – even to places they regularly visit.
VW Design Vision GTI gets 500bhp: Worthersee
Wed, 08 May 2013The Design Vision GTI is built to show what a Golf built for racing would look like – and perhaps point to future evolutions of VW’s most successful car – and is built on the same MQB platform as the regular GTI. It’s a bit shorter (15mm) than a regular Golf, a chunk wider (71mm) and a lot lower (57mm) which conspires to make the Design Vision GTI much more aggressive looking than its mainstream sibling. Power comes from a 3.0 litre V6 with two turbos – good for 500bhp and 413lb/ft of torque – which is driven to all four wheels through a DSG ‘box and can scoot to 62mph in a supercar-like 3.9 seconds on its way to 186mph.
