Mon, 03 Jan 2011Tata Nano Sales recovered well in December The Tata Nano was going to be the car that changed the world. Not since the Model T brought motoring to the masses was there a car that was going to change the game so drastically, with a list price in India of just £1750 and plans to bring the Tata Nano to Europe with a sub £5k tag, the Nano was going to be a revolution. Things started well, with Tata having to organise a lottery to allocate the Nano to buyers, such was the demand.
New baby Jaguar to be called XE
Wed, 05 Mar 2014Jaguar has revealed its new small saloon rival to the BMW 3 Series will be called XE. The new Jaguar XE, which will be revealed this year before going on sale in 2015, will be the first all-aluminium car ever launched in the premium small saloon sector – and prices are expected to start from £30,000. Jaguar is promising a range of cars that stretch from a sub-100g/km model (something the BMW 3 Series doesn’t yet achieve) to one that can reach a top speed of 186mph (a speed that’s also faster than every 3 Series).
Mini Vision concept: what does it say about the brand's future?
Thu, 01 Aug 2013The sight of Mini design head Anders Warming presenting a holographic, 3D projection of the Mini Vision concept as if appearing in his own cartoon was certainly a new one on us, but it captured the quirky, slightly left-field image the subsidiary of BMW Group has cultivated since its relaunch 13 years ago. As the 'Vision' tag suggests, this is billed as a marker of intent for the brand's future design direction rather than a pre-production teaser of the new Mini hatchback (Cooper in most markets) we'll see later this year. However if the third-generation 'new' Mini doesn't look remarkably similar we'd be amazed, such is the level of productionized detailing on this purely digital model.
