Shelby raffles off last 50th-anniversary Cobra

Shelby is celebrating its 50th anniversary in style, first at the Detroit auto show with a few black-and-gold Shelby Mustangs, and now at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Arizona with the last example of the 50th-anniversary Shelby Cobra. The car won't be sold to the highest bidder though; it will be raffled. Tickets cost $25 apiece or five for $100.

Monterey in a Mulsanne – a Bentley mission to Pebble Beach

After a ten-and-a-half-hour flight from London, the idea of steering headlong – and solo – into the early Los Angeles rush-hour traffic in a five-and-a-half-metre-long, left-hand drive Bentley Mulsanne (worth some £230,000 with extras) and on the other side of the road to which I am familiar, might seem a little daunting. The ‘Nemesis’ is an electric car built round a second hand Lotus Exige, bought off eBay, by a team of engineers in a shed in Norfolk and driven by an Estate Agent from Gloucestershire.
