The Golf24 will race at the ‘Green Hell’ in the legendary endurance event on 25-26 June 2011, but although it’s been built as part of Volkswagen’s celebrations for the 35th anniversary of the GTI, it shares little with the hot hatch that we know and love. It’s a great-looking car – even if it’s more Targa than Roadster – and comes with the same 6.5 litre V12 and 0-62mph of just 3.0 seconds as the coupe. More importantly, especially if you get caught in a shower, the Aventador Roadster actually has a roof that can be removed and re-fitted in quick sticks.
Volvo plans to polish its image with styling, high-tech engines
Mon, 21 Nov 2011Volvo's brand image is stuck somewhere between "premium" and "luxury," but the Swedish automaker aims to move further upscale with a fresh design language and a new generation of vehicles powered by more fuel-efficient engines. New mid-sized and large models will begin arriving in 2014 based on Volvo's lightweight SPA platform. The vehicles will use Volvo's coming generation of smaller four-cylinder engines.
