New Range Rover – sold out for 2013
Thu, 20 Sep 2012One UK Land Rover dealer is already reporting the 2013 Range Rover is already sold out for 2013, a week before it debuts at Paris 2012. Not only has Land Rover managed to push the Range Rover more upmarket - and managed to bring in the new 3.0 litre diesel at a similar price point to the old V8 diesel without any real moans about price hikes - they’ve made the Rangie more economical, more powerful and much ‘Greener’. That message seems to have filtered in to Range Rover buyers very quickly, with one Land Rover dealer in the UK already reporting they’ve sold out of their entire allocation for 2013.
Jeep Cherokee (2007): first official pictures
Tue, 10 Apr 2007By Jack Carfrae First Official Pictures 10 April 2007 12:14 Jeep Cherokee: the lowdown Jeep has given the Cherokee yet another makeover in its 30-year history and has headed back to basics on the design front. The new Cherokee (or Liberty, if you’re American) draws heavily on the big and boxy Commander for its latest look. With a face that only its mother could love, the Cherokee certainly hasn’t become any more attractive.
Growing opposition to UK 50mph speed limit plan
Mon, 08 Jun 2009UK Government plans to cut 60mph national speed limit to 50mph in 2010 By Peter Adams Motoring Issues 08 June 2009 14:21 Opposition to the UK Government’s plan to lower the national speed limit from 60 to 50mph is gathering momentum. Almost 34,000 people have now signed a petition on the Number 10 website urging the Government to ‘not reduce the national speed limit to 50mph.’ It’s become the second most popular petition on the site – ahead of similar bids to stop the Government raising university tuition fees and beaten only by one calling for Gordon Brown to resign as prime minister.Cutting the UK’s national speed limits from 60mph to 50mph: the backgroundBack in March 2009, plans were announced that the Government wanted to cut the national speed limit from 60mph to 50mph on single carriageways in rural areas. In urban areas, some 30mph limits could drop to 20mph.If steamrollered through, the sweeping change to Britain’s speed limits could be enforced from 2010.
