China automaker Brilliance halts Europe exports, executives say
Thu, 29 Apr 2010Brilliance China Automotive Holdings Ltd., BMW AG's partner in China, has halted its car exports to Europe after its BS4 and BS6 sedan met with a cool reception, and there is no timetable for a resumption, senior executives said on Thursday. The head of Brilliance's former importer for Europe, Hans-Ulrich Sachs, told Automotive News Europe in March that another reason the automaker struggled is because it refused to lower the starting prices on the BS6 and BS4. "They didn't want to lose any money per car," said Sachs, the former boss of the now dissolved import company HSO Motors Europe.
Kia KV7 concept
Tue, 28 Dec 2010Kia is clearly keen to grab the last of 2010's headlines by releasing this teaser render of its upcoming concept, the KV7, due to be unveiled at the Detroit auto show. The large crossover appears to preview a replacement for the Korean manufacturer's Borrego. While the exterior's clamshell tailgate, muscular wheelarches and Ford Explorer-aping lamp graphics (from this view, at least) may be directly relative to a production model, it's unlikely that the rear gullwing door openings will make the transition.
Are JLR about to announce the new small Jaguar?
Fri, 20 Jul 2012Jaguar has reached agreement with unions at Castle Bromwich to increase productivity and look set to announce a new Jaguar. Back in May we reported that Jaguar had failed to reach agreement with Unions at castle Bromwich over working practices aimed to increase production, but today agreement has been reached and we’re expecting an announcement shortly from JLR. We know that the new working practices – which involved compulsory Saturday shifts – were vital to Jaguar to get the new F-Type out of the door when it launches in 2013, but this morning both BBC and ITV are reporting that Jaguar are about to announce the production of two new models at Castle Bromwich.
