| AEM's Engine Position Module (EPM) replaces an engine's
distributor and allows for the use of coil-on-plug or wasted-park ignition
systems on popular Chevy V8 small blocks and big blocks, Ford small blocks and
Honda B-, D-, H-, and F-series race engines. Installation is simple via a
four-wire connection (12V, ground, crank signal, and cam signal).
AEM's EPM provides precise engine position using dual
zero-speed optical sensors, which offers the advantage of immediate signal
generation regardless of engine speed. The EPM easily adapts to any
positive-drive, half-engine speed device such as a cam or distributor drive,
and can be used with any aftermarket engine management system that recognizes
the common 24 & 1 pattern for crank and cam signals.

The fastest growing segment in the car market is the Crossover / SUV, especially the more compact crossovers. So if Jaguar are going to compete in the big league they’re going to have to tap in to Land Rover’s expertise at some point and come up with their own Crossover (NOT a Jaguar SUV, as Ian Callum made clear). That could perhaps be getting closer with the news that Jaguar has registered both the Q-Type and XQ monikers after Pistonheads played Sherlock and dug the details out from the bowels of the European Union trademark database.

Some of us around the AW office mostly refuse to be moved by modern Lamborghinis, clinging to the wacky 'n' weird minimal-production maintenance horrorshows of our youth. The Sesto Elemento was a bright spot. Last year's zany Veneno at least looked interplanetary, though it still didn't capture the Barbarella-cool of the LP400.

But much of that will probably depend on real buyers stumping up real money to get on the waiting list for a car we still don’t know a great deal about (in particular what underpins it) but which does look good and manages to encompass Spyker’s traditional styling cues whilst still conspiring to look very current. Now, buried amongst the latest financial report from Spyker – which shows no real turnover or profit, loans in to shares and an injection of cash from Youngman – comes the news that Victor is already getting a bit ahead of himself again with plans to reveal the B6 Venator Spyder later this year. That looks a bit of a ‘run before you can walk’ scenario for Spyker - especially as Victor says production of the C8 Aileron will gather pace this year and the D8 Peking-to-Paris SUV will be a priority – but if Spyker can produce a Venator Spyder that looks as good as the coupe it may be the right way forward.
