SEMA ups scholarship money for car-crazed college kids
Mon, 07 Jan 2013The Specialty Equipment Market Association, better known to most of us as SEMA, has announced a hefty boost to its SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund for 2013: The top student selected now gets $1,000 more for a total of $5,000 toward an automotive-related college education. Other eligible participants in four-year programs get $3,000—last year, they only received $2,000—and two-year students get their funds doubled to $2,000. In the Buckeye State, one lucky student at the Ohio Technical College will get complete tuition coverage, which is a cool $29,400.
Belgian Grand Prix (2013) RESULT
Sun, 25 Aug 2013Belgian Grand Prix (2013) RESULT After the last outing for F1 in Hungary three weeks ago, Lewis Hamilton goes in to the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps with a win under his belt and pole position too, so he should have had a great chance of another win. But it didn’t work out like that. In fact, the 2013 Belgian Grand Prix turned in to a demonstration of the powers of Sebastian Vettel and his Red Bull, as the German wasted no time taking Hamilton in the very early stages before going on to control the race from the front, and take a resounding victory with his fifth win of the season.
Cadillac teases Detroit 2013 concept at Pebble Beach
Tue, 21 Aug 2012Cadillac teased a new concept car at the weekend at Pebble Beach to be unveiled in the steel at an unnamed American auto show early next year. We'll see you on the GM stand in Detroit then. During a press event Cadillac's Global Design Director Clay Dean said it was time for the brand to "reflect back not for nostalgia, but what made us great at the time." There were no further details about what we can expect from the concept but from what we can see from these renders is what appears to be a further move away from the geometry of the Art and Science form language towards a more sculptural surface treatment intersected by sharp, precise creases.
