Offered is an original old ahoogah horn from the 1920-1935 era that works great.  It was disassembled, sandblasted to bare metal, painted gloss black then reassembled with new screws, and diaphragm gaskets.  The diaphragm gaskets were adjusted to the proper thickness for the best sound when the horn is activated.  The motor was cleaned and lubricated and the armature was trued and cleaned.   I tested it with my 6 volt battery charger and it blows a crisp, loud AAAAHHHHOOOOOGAAAHHHH!  Works great and sounds great.  It is 10 1/2" long and has a 4 3/4" diameter at the widest part of the body.  It has some rust pits on the horn body, but when it is activated, it sounds exceptional hitting all 3 tones of the AAHHHOOOGAHH clearly and crisply!  The manufacturer of this horn is made by Klaxon and is the #8C.  It is very loud.  I do not know what the original car was that it came on.  I have listed several possibilities.  Ready to mount on your car and use now.

Please note that all ahoogah horns are operated by a motor that will spin faster or slower depending on the amperage of your battery and your charging system.  On the back of the horn there is a slotted adjustment screw.  When you tighten the screw it will make it turn slower and if you tighten it too much, it will stop completely.  By loosening the screw, it makes it spin faster.  It is easy to adjust the horn to the sound you prefer by turning the adjustment screw.

Thank You!

One Lap of the Web: new imports, old imports

-- The 1956 Maserati A6G-2000 Allemano is as beautiful as it is rare, and if Jay Leno didn't take one for a spin in this video, we probably wouldn't see one until next year's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. -- Simon Cowell (of Simon Cowell fame) bought a Bugatti Veyron three years ago because a friend told him its a good idea, and he's driven it a total of two times since. Not driven it at its maximum speed, but just driven period.

One Lap of the Web: High plains drifters, Vettel FX and supercars in London

Fri, 05 Jul 2013

We spend a lot of time on the Internet -- pretty much whenever we're not driving, writing about or working on cars. Since there's more out there than we'd ever be able to cover, here's our daily digest of car stuff on the Web you may not otherwise have heard about. YoTtube user Munch997 uploaded eight minutes of supercar glory, filmed on London streets.
