The track only Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 With the New York Motor Show spluttering in to life across the Pond, we’ll have a number of show stories to cover to keep you up to speed, the first of which is the official reveal of the Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 track car. The Mercedes SLS GT3 will be an evocative site in the hands of customers going racing from 2011, reminiscent as it is of the hugely successful racing career of the original Mercedes Gullwing in the hands of iconic drivers of the 1950s such as Sir Sterling Moss. Mercedes have taken the road-going SLS AMG Gullwing and thrown a lorry load of carbon fibre in its direction.

Ferrari teases Enzo replacement's rear detailing

Ferrari's official magazine has revealed another teaser shot of the replacement Enzo. The image, which appeared in The Official Ferrari Magazine alongside a previously released teaser, shows a close up of the rear including the lamps, exhaust and and some dramatically flared haunches. The Enzo's successor – codenamed the F150 – has a chassis made entirely from carbon fiber as it takes on its main competitor, the McLaren P1.

Chevrolet reckoned its radical electric four-seater was such a breakthrough that it would transform the way we drive when it arrived in showrooms by the end of the decade. And it’s just announced that the production model will be significantly more efficient at scything through the air: the Volt has been sent to GM’s wind tunnel where Chevrolet’s aerodynamicists has smoothed off some of its blunt surfaces to create a shape that is 30 percent more effective at cutting cleanly through the air at speed than the original concept.
