The next Subaru WRX STI should look a lot like the WRX Concept (above)
Subaru fans were delighted that the new Subaru WRX STI – revealed at the Detroit Auto Show in January – was actually going to make it to the UK, and at a price that isn’t too barking at £29k. But the joy that the new Scooby was heading for Subaru’s UK showrooms was tempered somewhat by its looks, looks that owed far more to the last generation WRX STI than the stunning Subaru WRX Concept we saw at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year. Hyundai i-oniq-Concept arrives at Geneva 2012
The Hyundai i-oniq Concept has been revealed ahead of Geneva 2012 as a range-extender hatchback with 75 mile EV range. We had a single teaser image of the Hyundai i-oniq Concept back in December, with the promise it was heading towards Geneva 2012, and with Geneva looming in just a few days Hyundai has revealed the first photo of the i-oniq. The i-oniq is a sports hatch designed to showcase the direction Hyundai is heading, and it showcases the direction of Hyundai’s fluidic sculpture design and its new technology.

The British government today announced new laws to allow autonomous cars on UK roads by 2015, prompting a review of the Highway Code and new legal measures to make sure driverless cars comply with current motoring law. Business secretary Vince Cable attended an event at the motor industry test facility at MIRA in the Midlands to unveil the measures, which include a £10 million regional fund for cities to apply to become a driverless car test area. Up to three cities will be selected to share the funding for trials that are expected to last between 18-36 months.
