Product Description Description: The AIRAID Cold Air Dam (CAD) Air Intake is engineered to give your engine larger amounts of cooler air to produce more horsepower and torque. The intake system retains the original location of the air filter but delivers a big boost with the addition of a huge open-element air inlet protected by Cold Air Dam panels that help to provide a steady, free-flowing supply of cooler outside air into your engine. The panels mount in the factory air box location and utilize any factory cold air inlet ducts that are present, while adding additional cold air passages to the filter. The panels also keep the filter isolated from the hot engine compartment air by sealing to the underside of the hood via blade-style weather stripping. Some CAD systems connect onto the factory air intake tube while others utilize a replacement low-restriction intake tube. The 360-degree conical AIRAID premium air filter is washable and reusable, less restrictive than traditional paper, and assures superior filtration. The AIRAID Cold Air Dam Air Intake is easy to install with common hand tools and is backed by AIRAID's exclusive No Hassle Lifetime Warranty. Some AIRAID air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards, while others are 50 state legal. Fits:
The Complete Power Package Call it the Power Principle: Better breathing equals more horsepower and torque. In order to fully understand this philosophy, you have to get down to basics. Since an engine is essentially a giant air pump, improving the air flow efficiency creates more power. On most stock intake systems, the main air flow restrictions are the intake box, the actual air inlet to the box and the paper air filter inside. The best way to bolt on more horsepower and torque while improving air flow to a gas engine is with an AIRAID® Intake System. All AIRAID® Intake Systems are computer designed, dyno tested and tuned to extract maximum performance for each application.
Cold Air: The Secret Weapon Improving airflow to the engine is just one part of what AIRAID® Intake Systems are designed to accomplish. It is a scientific fact that cold air is denser than hot air, so therefore cold air packs more oxygen molecules into an engine. More oxygen means more complete combustion, and more combustion equals more power. AIRAID® Intake Systems replace your vehicle's restrictive factory air box with a computer-designed Cold Air Dam (CAD), which separates the AIRAID® premium filter from hot engine compartment air while supplying the filter with plenty of cool outside air. This cool, dense air charge is the key to getting more power from your engine. Most AIRAID® Intake Systems are smog-legal and utilize factory mounting points for ease of installation. Last but certainly not least, all AIRAID® products are constructed using the finest materials available today and backed by our Lifetime "No-Hassle" Warranty. |

Ford Focus ST is dead – bring on the 2011 Ford Focus ST
Sat, 21 Aug 2010The Ford Focus ST Yes, Ford’s Championship League hot Focus – the Ford Focus ST - falls foul of Euro 5 emissions which come in to force in January, so it joins cars like the Civic Type R and the Mazda RX-8 in being confined to the history book of motoring with its 5-pot 2.5 litre lump – which also did sterling service in the Focus RS and the Focus RS500 - failing to keep up with the regulator’s pen. Bur fear not, although you’ll have to wait probably until 2012 (or at least late in to 2011) to get a look at the 2012 Focus RS, the 2011 Ford Focus ST will be here even before the last rites have been read for the current ST; the new 2011 Focus ST bows in at Paris in just over a month’s time. By all accounts the 2011 Focus ST is going to come equipped with performance comparable to the current RS rather than the current ST.
Design Review: Mercedes-Benz CLC
Fri, 01 Feb 2008The Mercedes brand tends to evoke images of wealth and prestige. It is also a company with quite a bit of heritage under its belt, with founder Karl Benz having built the first motorized vehicle back in 1886. So the image of prestige is well deserved, especially when you consider the illustrious designs the car maker put on the road in the last half century: the 1952 300Sc, the iconic 300SL 'Gullwing' from the 1950s and the 230SL 'Pagode' from 1964.
