The company was founded in 1997 when it began developing and manufacturing air intake systems for light trucks and SUVs, utilizing the cotton-gauze filter technology that was available at the time. The original AIRAID Intake System combined an open-element filter with an intake tube to make an easy-to install air intake kit that dramatically increased air flow, improved performance and generated more horsepower and torque. AIRAID Premium Filters consist of multiple layers of cotton-gauze plus one layer of synthetic fiber material called SynthaFlow, sandwiched between either stainless steel or aluminum mesh, depending upon the application. The casing of the filter is hand-poured urethane, which offers superior performance and durability, and won't shrink or crack from prolonged heat exposure under the hood. Superior filtration and flow, thanks to the SynthaFlow material, is what makes AIRAID Premium filters better than the rest. SynthaFlow enhances dirt filtration down to two microns and is moisture resistant. AIRAID Premium Filters are also washable and re-usable and are guaranteed for life. Sat, 26 Oct 2013The new Mercedes GLA Edition 1 (pictured) kicks off sales of the new GLA Mercedes has discovered that a launch edition of a new car – with special paintwork and lots opf extras – is a good way to kick off sales so, with the new GLA due to go on sale in November, we get more details on the new Mercedes GLA Edition 1. We reported the GLA Edition 1 would kick off sales of the new GLA range last month, but now Mercedes has sorted out the specs, even if we don’t have a UK price yet (although the ‘Edition 1′ can be had on all the non AMG versions in Germany for an extra €6300). Based on the GLA Urban Line, the Edition 1 comes with faux chrome roof rails and skid guards, bi-xenons, 19″ AMG alloys, black louvres with chrome inserts on the grill, black mirrors and waistline trim and privacy glass and will come with a choice of cirrus white, orient brown metallic, mountain grey metallic and designo magno mountain grey paintwork with ‘Edition 1′ lettering on the wings.

Fri, 21 Jun 2013The new Aston Martin V12 Vantage S (pictured) is Aston’s quickest car At the end of last month, as expected, and following the ending of production of the V12 Vantage, the new Aston Martin V12 Vantage S arrived. Aston proclaimed the new V12 Vantage S as the quickest production car they’d ever built (with the exception of the £1 million One-77) but declined to tell us exactly how quick it was. But now AML have finished playing with their stopwatch and declared the V12 Vantage S will get to 62mph in 3.9 seconds (0-60mph in 3.7s), an improvement of 0.3 seconds on the V12 Vantage and giving the V12 Vantage S the edge over the car we think it should be compared to – the new Jaguar F-Type V8 S.
GM recalls nearly 15,000 Buick LaCrosse, Chevrolet Impala sedans
Fri, 12 Aug 2011General Motors is recalling about 15,000 vehicles to fix two problems--reprogramming the electronic stability control in some 2012 Buick LaCrosse cars and rerouting the power-steering hose on the 2012 Chevrolet Impala. The automaker is recalling 10,344 Impalas to reroute the upper power-steering house that could fail because of heat from the catalytic converter. As a result, the hose sprays fluid over the catalytic converter, causing smoke and potential fire.
