It is a proven scientific fact that cold air is denser than hot air, which means that an engine breathing cold air is going to make more power than the identical engine breathing hot air. The quest for cold air is what drives the AIRAID® Cold Air Dam Intakes. The CAD Intakes retain the stock filter location but give the stock intake system a big boost with the addition of a huge air inlet that provides a steady, free-flowing supply of cold air. This is done via Cold Air Dam panels, which mount in the factory air box location and utilize any factory cold air inlet ducts that are present, while adding additional cold air passages to the filter. These panels also keep the filter isolated from the hot engine compartment air by sealing to the underside of the hood via blade-style weatherstripping. Each AIRAID® Cold Air Dam Intake is designed specifically for each vehicle application and offers a simple, trouble-free installation using simple hand tools. Range Rover Evoque Desert Warrior 3

The British Excite Rally Raid Team has taken delivery of the new Range Rover Evoque based Desert Warrior 3 off-road race car. Under the skin, the Evoque is not exactly a Land Rover but gets its power from a 3.0 litre BMW twin-turbo diesel with 275bhp (or 350bhp when unrestricted) and 479lb/ft of torque which runs through a six-speed ZF sequential ‘box. The chassis of the Desert Warrior 3 is completely bespoke and made from T45 tubes and all designed in-house and tested over the last three Dakars.

1965 Shelby Daytona Cobra sells for $7.25 million at Monterey auction

The championship-winning 1965 Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe CSX2601 sold for a record $7.25 million on Saturday at an auction in Monterey. The sale is believed to be a record for an American car at auction. Bob Bondurant drove it to victory in the 12 Heures du Reims--fittingly on the Fourth of July in 1965 to secure the FIA title.

BMW offers new M Performance accessories for M5 and M6

Tuners Alpina and AC Schnitzer aren't the only ones offering just about everything in carbon fiber for BMWs these days, and BMW has introduced performance accessories for their M5 and M6 cars, including the M6 Gran Coupe, Convertible, and Coupe. On the performance front, car owners will be able to purchase and retrofit an exhaust system developed by BMW's M division and engineering company Akrapovič -- one made entirely of titanium. This new exhaust system will be available for the M5, and all versions of the M6 and will result in a weight savings of approximately 22 pounds.
