Bentley sales in China hit new record
Mon, 09 Apr 2012Bentley boss Wolfgang Duerheimer at last year's Shanghai Show. Bentley has revealed that China has now overtaken the US as its biggest market with 578 sales in the first quarter of 2012 – up 84.9 per cent. This time last year we reported that Bentley sales were flying in China and closing in on the US as the most important market for Crewe’s products.
Fifth Gear on TV – the Return
Tue, 23 Mar 2010Fifth Gear Returns to TV in April with a new format Fifth Gear was everyone’s second favourite car show on TV. And that second favourite label seemed to be its undoing when FIVE decided last year to ditch the show after it failed to make any impact on the ratings against everyone’s favourite car show on TV – Top Gear. But FIVE (channel five if we ditch the trendy CAPITALS) have had a change of heart, done a syndication deal or two for Fifth Gear and are putting together a new series (they’ve actually commissioned two of them) which should hit TV screens at the end of next month.
Honda CR-Z Hybrid by 2010
Mon, 13 Jul 2009Honda are bringing the Honda CR-Z Hybrid to market next year, based on the CR-Z Concept from 2007 Honda’s first production Hybrid – the Honda Insight, recently called the worst car in the world – has not been a resounding success. True, it looks better than the Toyota Prius but – and we haven’t driven one yet so we can’t comment from our own experience – it’s not a great car. It has also been eclipsed – after a promising start – by the Toyota Prius, which has doubled its sales in Japan.
