Hyundai i30 (2011) at Frankfurt motor show
Mon, 12 Sep 2011Hyundai is showing off the new i30 hatchback at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show. It's the first of the Hyundai-Kia twins - the new Kia Ceed lands in spring 2012. The i30 is Hyundai's C-segment Focus rival, and its replacement marks the start of a challenging new era for Hyundai; the i30 was the first car to wear the 'i' prefix, and its subsequent replacement means the company has come full circle.

Thu, 24 Dec 2009The report of the Ferrari 599 Hybrid destined for Geneva We know that Ferrari are doing what every other car maker is and working on systems to cut their average CO2 emissions, save a few bob and look a bit more ‘Eco’. There is already an electric Ferrari powertrain in development and Ferrari have in effect been trialing hybrid technology with their F1 cars equipped with KERS. So it comes as no huge surprise that it’s being reported Ferrari are to bring a hybrid version of the 599 to the Geneva Motor Show next year.

The now independent brand is teasing motor show visitors with a styling buck of the One-77 (the ultra-exclusive £1.2 million supercar that’ll be limited to a run of, yep, 77 when it arrives in 2009) that reveals just its front right and rear left aspects, plus there’s an automatic DBS on display and talk of exciting future Aston Martin projects. James Bond’s favourite Aston now comes with Touchtronic – a six-speed ZF automatic gearbox that’s borrowed from the DB9 but substantially beefed up.
