Akrapovic description and specs:

The Akrapovic Evolution systems are designed for riders in road racing closed course competition and for those who attend trackdays and expect the maximum from their exhaust system. The Evolution systems make the Suzuki substantially more responsive, and the HEXAGONAL muffler also provides a great visual modification and weight savings. Systems fit perfectly to stock mounting points and allow the use of passenger footpegs.

The Akrapovic exhaust system increase the responsiveness of the Suzuki and fill out the power and torque curves. The increase in torque starts already at around 3500 rpm, while the power curve increase starts around 5000 rpm and leads all the way to the top of the range. At 13400 rpm we measured a massive 140.5 HP. We measured max. power increase of 9.9 HP at 13250 rpm.

Oh well, the only thing we’ve wasted is a finger on each hand bashing this out for your delight. So here they are – images of the Audi TT-RS – due to launch in just a week or so’s time at Geneva 2009.

Toyota GT86 & Subaru BRZ getting Cosworth Performance upgrades (video)

Sun, 18 May 2014

Cosworth promise power upgrades for the FA 20 engine Ever since the Toyota GT86 and Subaru BRZ arrived as ‘affordable’ sports cars with a focus on the dynamics rather than outright power, there’s been endless claims and rumours that more power is on the way. As far back as 2011, Subaru in the US confirmed that a turbo version of the BRZ’s 2.0 litre FA20 Boxer engine was under development although, to be fair, they didn’t say it was actually heading for the BRZ. And just last year, Subaru teased what we thought could be a more powerful BRZ STI, but that turned out to be a BRZ tS with go faster bits but no more actual power.

TVR sale latest

Thu, 08 Feb 2007

By Tim Pollard Motor Industry 08 February 2007 04:17 More than 30 parties have expressed an interest in buying the remnants of TVR, the sports car maker which crashed into administration over Christmas - and the factory could move to Asia. Administrator PKF (UK) LLP has spent the past month clarifying the assets of Blackpool Automotive Ltd, the company that ran the Blackpool factory, and it in fact holds several trump cards that could prevent the Russian owner switching production overseas. The sale advert in the Financial Times reveals that Blackpool Automotive controls the TVR trademark in Europe and the US, as well as all the intellectual property rights and tooling for the sports cars.
