New Opel/Vauxhall Astra saloon revealed – but not for the UK
Wed, 06 Jun 2012The new Astra with a boot has been revealed but it’s not heading for the UK. It will, however, be offered in Germany and Spain. Frankfurt 2011:Rimac Concept One – an Electric Supercar
Sun, 18 Sep 2011Rimac One Concept - an electric hypercar at Frankfurt Our antipathy towards electric cars – and the seeming futility of pursuing a technology that has made little progress in a century – is well known. Perhaps, in the case of the Rimac One, we should consider it a toy for the seriously well-off, rather than just the better-off, as it’s expected to cost a quite substantial £650k for each of the 88 cars Mate intends making.
Bus service cuts 'at critical level'
Wed, 11 Dec 2013CUTS TO bus services are now reaching "critical levels", according to a report by the Campaign for Better Transport (CBT). As many as 47% of local authorities in England and Wales have reduced their support for buses for 2013, while the 2014/15 financial year is likely to be a difficult one for bus services, said CBT. Three councils have stopped supporting services and others might follow, warned the CBT, whose report is entitled Buses In Crisis and is based on responses to Freedom of Information Act requests made to all local transport authorities regarding supported buses.
