Audi tracks down the last Horch

Fri, 27 Nov 2009

The last Horch built, found in the middle of Texas It’s been looking likely for a while that now VW has taken control of Porsche it may decide to rebrand the VW Group as Auto Union. Auto Union was the root of Audi, and was formed in the ’30s when Audi, Horch, DKW and Wanderer joined forces to become Auto Union and pool their resources to cope with the depression (sound familiar?). Which might explain why Audi has been scouring the planet for rare cars from its Auto Union days.

BMW M7 coming after all?

Mon, 28 May 2012

Despite BMW’s stating they will never make an M7, BMW’s American boss Ludwig Willisch says it will happen. In answer to the M-anorak’s disappointment BMW pointed out – very sensibly in our view – that the market for an M7 would be tiny and that you could already have a 760i M Sport with a stunning V12 and 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds.

Geneva Show 2014: Renegade Is Anything But Rough And Ready

DON’T be put off by the size of Jeep’s latest offering, as its new Renegade might be small but it’s claimed to be just as capable as its larger stablemates. With Jeep now part of the Fiat family, it’s no surprise to learn that the Renegade is based on the Italian firm’s 500L. The diminutive Renegade is, however, expected to remain true to the Jeep brand thanks to off-road versions complete with all-wheel drive, skid plates and raised ride height.
