Upcoming Volvo XC90 gets new safety tech

The Volvo XC90 has been with us for 10 years now -- a long time indeed when it comes to product life cycles of comparable upmarket SUVs. 2009 EyesOn Design Awards

The winners at the fourth annual EyesOn Design Awards held at the 2009 NAIAS in Detroit last week read like a serving of alphabet soup, with the top awards going to Audi, BMW and Cadillac. Presided over by 20 top design executives from automotive manufacturers and by academics from transportation design programs, the EyesOn Design awards are presented by the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology (DIO) - an internationally recognized non-profit organization known for helping the blind and visually impaired. HAVE YOU ever seen a Lamborghini taxi? Probably not, but for one day only the brains behind the new Pure Rally initiative turned a Gallardo supercar into a London Black Cab. Londoners and tourists alike were able to hail the 201mph 'Lambo Cab' on Wednesday April 23, as part of a publicity drive to promote a new, more affordable kind of pan-European car rally adventure.
